NEW HAVEN, CT — Monday, just after 1 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the area of State and Ferry streets, according to a post to "X."
Cops said that when they arrived, they found a gunshot wound victim lying on the ground. That person, who as of late Monday was not identified, was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, police said, adding the man was in stable condition. Shortly after, police said another gunshot victim from the scene of the shooting arrived via private car to the hospital. A 21-year-old New Haven man, he too, was listed in stable condition, police said.
The initial investigation revealed that the gun fire came from the vehicle which was driving south on State Street toward downtown, cops said. Both victims were standing in the area of 1330 State St. when someone in the car "appeared to fire multiple rounds of gunfire, striking both victims," police said. The car continued south on State Street and was later found unoccupied and towed for processing by investigators.
