Avelo Soars: Adds Bradley As A Hub, 18 Destinations, 2 International

Not just flying out of Tweed anymore, Avelo announced the largest expansion in the company's history with new flights to Mexico, Jamaica.

HARTFORD, CT —Avelo Airlines announced today the largest expansion in company history with 18 nonstop routes, the airline’s first scheduled international service to two destinations: Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico, and the establishment of dual operations at Avelo’s Connecticut and Central Florida bases. In addition to the two new international destinations, Avelo will begin serving Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport this fall basing two aircraft in Hartford.

Avelo will now serve 52 destinations across 23 states, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Mexico. Beginning this fall, Avelo will operate these new routes twice-weekly utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

Beginning Nov. 7, Avelo will debut at BDL with five new nonstop routes including Houston, Texas (HOU), two Florida destinations: Daytona Beach (DAB) and Orlando / Lakeland (LAL) and two popular North Carolina destinations: Charlotte / Concord (USA) and Wilmington (ILM).

Beginning Nov. 16, Avelo will add its first scheduled international flights with service to Cancun, Mexico and Montego Bay, Jamaica .

Avelo will operate these routes twice-weekly utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

Growing Avelo in Connecticut

Avelo will establish dual operations at BDL as part of its regional Connecticut base on November
7, 2024. To support its base extension, the airline anticipates creating 80 more jobs in
Connecticut aviation for individuals at all stages of their career including pilots, flight
attendants, ground services, Customer support and more.
New Haven is Avelo’s largest base – employing over 250 Crewmembers supporting eight
aircraft which fly to 26 nonstop destinations. Since taking flight at HVN in November 2021,
Avelo has flown more than 2 million Customers at Tweed.
