Bon Appétit! New Haven Restaurant Week Returns April 14-19

NEW HAVEN, CT —The Elm City’s foodie event, New Haven Restaurant Week, returns April 14-19. The epicurean event will welcome visitors and locals to explore the city’s full slate of culinary offerings from 24 participating restaurants.

"For 16 years, visitors, and locals have been coming together at tables and bar tops across downtown and beyond to celebrate New Haven Restaurant Week. Our city is a year-round hotbed for culinary excellence, and this biannual event is a time to celebrate the culinary innovation that surrounds us in the Elm City,” Director for Market New Haven Bruno Baggetta said. "Our sponsors, Yale and Yale-New Haven Health, bear great influence on this event through their continued support of our independent businesses, and for that, we’re incredibly grateful."

This spring’s slate of participants represents eight vibrant neighborhoods across New Haven. Of the 24 participants, 15 will offer $25 two-course lunch specials, and all restaurants will offer pre-fixe, three-course dinner experiences for $45 or $55 per person. Beverages, taxes, and gratuity are not included.

From coastal New England fare to Peruvian fine dining, the list of participating restaurants has grown this year to welcome a new addition, BDLG at the Hotel Marcel. With sustainability at its core, BLDG combines locally sourced ingredients with sustainably sourced meats and poultry, creating an array of artfully composed dishes.

To kick off the week, one of the participating restaurants, Olives and Oil, will host the Gin Fling Culinary Competition. Six teams consisting of a chef and bartender will compete to create the best cocktail and small bite pairing, with community members acting as the judges and choosing the winner. Visitors are encouraged to join in on the fun on April 14 at 8 p.m.

Diners are invited to explore New Haven’s shopping districts and the many museums, including Yale Peabody Museum, which recently reopened after a four-year closure. The 98-year-old museum welcomed visitors again on March 26, outfitted with a variety of architectural and sustainability improvements, along with a slate of new exhibits aimed at creating a more immersive experience.

The Shops at Yale will offer free 2-hour parking with same-day purchases of $50 or more from participating restaurants at lots located at 255 Crown Street and 56 Broadway. Additionally, Park New Haven will offer a $5 parking rate during lunch in the Crown Street and Temple Street Garages. The offer is applicable April 14-19 between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
