City's Bike Share Program 'Ride New Haven,' Relaunched
After a 4-year hiatus, Ride New Haven relaunched with a fleet of 100 new e-bikes, added to the existing 100 pedal bikes, at 30 stations.
NEW HAVEN, CT —Ride New Haven, the city's bike share program, was officially relaunched Tuesday.
After a four-year hiatus, Ride New Haven is relaunching with a fleet of 100 new electric bikes (e-bikes) at 30 stations, providing residents and visitors with an affordable, convenient, fun, healthy, and environmentally friendly option to commute and explore New Haven. The e-bikes, a new offering for the program, will be complemented by 100 pedal bikes from the previous program, the latter of which will be rolled out in the coming weeks. Individuals can sign up for the program through Ride New Haven’s mobile app with pay as you go, monthly membership, and annual membership options.
To kick off the program’s relaunch, special promotional pricing is being offered through September, including a $99 annual membership that provides one hour of free ride time per day. Discounted equity memberships priced at $4 per month are also available for low-income New Haven residents.

As part of New Haven’s ongoing efforts to create a greener and more bike-friendly city, the New Haven Parking Authority issued an RFP earlier this year to relaunch the bike share program, in which Drop Mobility was selected as the vendor and will be partnering with The Devil’s Gear, a local New Haven bike shop, to operate and maintain the system. The New Haven Coalition for Active Transportation (NCAT) is also collaborating with Ride New Haven to offer free e-bike share classes for adults starting in September.
