Cooling Centers Open In New Haven As Temperatures Soar
All city libraries and senior centers serve as cooling centers during normal business hours and Splash Pads hours are expanded, 10 am-8 pm.
NEW HAVEN, CT — Although much of the Connecticut coastline will escape the most extreme temperatures forecasted for other parts of the state, it's nonetheless going to be very hot with temperatures in the high 80s, exacerbated by high humidity leading to feel-like temps in the 90s.
Gov. Ned Lamont directed the state's Extreme Hot Weather Protocol activated effective today through noon Sunday. The purpose of this protocol is to ensure that the most vulnerable populations receive protection from the hot conditions.
New Haven's heat protocols are also activated.
