Cops Investigating 2 Weekend Shootings With 2 Hospital Walk-In Victims

NEW HAVEN, CT — Two separate shootings in the pre-dawn hours Sunday, left two New Haven residents hospitalized with gunshot wounds, police said.
At 12:42 a.m. Sunday, a report of a shooting had cops respond to an address on Quinnipiac Avenue, according to New Haven police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart. Several minutes after cops got to the scene, where ballistic evidence was found, they were notified that a "walk-in" shooting victim, a 47-year-old city resident, arrived at Yale New Haven Hospital in a private vehicle suffering from "several gunshot wounds," which were deemed non-life-threatening.
Then, at 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Saint Raphael campus of Yale New Haven Hospital on Chapel Street for the report of a "walk-in" gunshot victim, a 34-year-old New Haven resident who'd suffered multiple "non-life-threatening" gunshot wounds, police said.

Police said that shooting occurred in the area of Willow Street and Mitchell Drive, where investigators also found ballistic evidence, authorities said.
Police, who interviewed the victim, said "there’s no apparent link between the two" early Sunday shootings.
