CT Legislators Hold Budget Forum on May 8
Local legislators will hold a forum May 8 to discuss Connecticut's budget and funding priorities for the next fiscal year.

From the Connecticut General Assembly: With this year’s legislative session slated to adjourn June 7, local legislators will hold a forum May 8 to discuss Connecticut’s budget and funding priorities for the next fiscal year.
“As we continue to address our budget shortfalls, we are going to have to make difficult, painful decisions. Nevertheless, it is vital that the spending package we put forth represents what is best for all Connecticut residents, including its most vulnerable,” said state Rep. Mike D’Agostino, D-Hamden.
D’Agostino will join state Reps. Josh Elliott, D-Hamden, Robyn Porter, D-New Haven, James Albis, D-East Haven, and Senate President Martin Looney, D-New Haven, for the budget forum, which is being sponsored by Action Together Connecticut.

“We are facing significant problems, and have been making devastating cuts to government for years following the recession. The dialogue between the grassroots and the legislature is the only way for us to make it back to firmer ground,” Elliott said.
Through this forum, residents will gain an understanding of how the proposed budget will directly affect them and the communities in which they live.
