Downtown Stabbing Reported Saturday: New Haven Police

The victim, a 27-year-old man, reported that he had been stabbed in the abdomen while trying to break up a fight on the street, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating a downtown stabbing that occurred just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

Police said officers assigned to a detail in the nightlife area of downtown were alerted to a stabbing that occurred on Temple Street between Crown and Chapel streets.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, reported that he had been stabbed in the abdomen while trying to break up a fight on the street, police said.

He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment, and his injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.
