Fire Displaces 11 From New Haven Multi-Family Home: Report
The fire caused "heavy damage" to the second and third floors of a Columbus Avenue house on Sunday night.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Eleven people have been displaced after a multi-family home in New Haven caught fire Sunday night, the New Haven Independent reported.
The fire at 150 Columbus Ave. was first reported at 9:22 p.m. Sunday as a kitchen fire, the New Haven Fire Department said. After battling "heavy fire" in the building's rear, firefighters extinguished the flames around 40 minutes later.
The New Haven Independent reported that nine adults and two children were displaced, and WTNH reported that two dogs were displaced as well.

One firefighter was treated for a minor burn, the TV station reported, and the American Red Cross was on scene to help the building's residents.
