NEW HAVEN, CT — The Grand Kyiv Ballet proudly announces its return to New Haven, Connecticut with the highly anticipated performance of the timeless ballet masterpiece, Swan Lake, at the historic Shubert Theatre at 247 College St, New Haven, Connecticut, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 7 pm. The performance will feature the extraordinary talent of Viktor Tomashek, bringing this beloved classic to life for one night only.

“We were overwhelmed by the warmth and enthusiasm from the New Haven audience during our performance of Swan Lake last spring,” says Oleksandr Stoianov, Founder and Artistic Director of the Grand Kyiv Ballet, “The energy in the theater was unforgettable, and we knew right away we wanted to return. We’re thrilled to be coming back on the 25th and can’t wait to share another beautiful evening of ballet with this incredible community.”
Presented by the Grand Kyiv Ballet, Swan Lake continues the company’s legacy of artistic excellence following their acclaimed performances of The Snow Queen and The Nutcracker. Audiences can expect a breathtaking evening of dance, music, and storytelling that showcases the very best of classical ballet tradition.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Shubert Theatre box office or online. The performance will take place on Saturday, October 25, at 7 PM — one night only.

A PERFORMANCE WITH PURPOSE

By performing this ballet, the Grand Kyiv Ballet continues its commitment to giving back to its community. A portion of the proceeds from this U.S. tour will go toward the restoration of the Main Ballet Academy of Ukraine and the repair of its children’s dormitory. By attending, audiences not only experience a world-class performance but also contribute to the preservation of a vital institution that has nurtured generations of gifted Ukrainian dancers.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE

Swan Lake tells the story of Prince Siegfried and Odette, a beautiful princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s spell. Renowned for its exquisite choreography, emotional depth, and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score, Swan Lake remains one of the most cherished ballets of all time, a tale of love, betrayal, and redemption that continues to move audiences around the world.

This mesmerizing production features leading dancers from Ukraine, Italy, Spain, the United States, and Japan, ensuring an evening of artistry and elegance audiences will never forget.
The performance is interpreted by principal dancer Viktor Tomashek, who graduated from the Kyiv State Choreographic School in 2008. He previously performed at the National Opera and Ballet Theatres in Kyiv, Donetsk, and Odessa. He then joined the Grand Kyiv Ballet as a principal dancer in 2022 and has been with the company since.
