Halloween Shooting Claims Life Of Woman, 18, Seriously Injures Another Woman, 18, New Haven Police Say
Up to 10K descended on downtown Halloween night with 18+ clubs drawing regional crowds; neither woman from New Haven, weren't targeted: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Before the 2:30 a.m. Saturday fatal shooting, police estimate somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 people, mostly Halloween revelers, filled downtown streets.
Just after bar closing time, numerous shots rang out a block from Gotham Citi Nightclub, and after, an 18-year-old woman was dead, another 18-year-old female suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound in what police called "an exchange of gunfire between two people in the area of Church Street and Center Street."
A 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were also shot, but have since been released from the hospital.

None of the people shot were intended targets, police said.
And, according to New Haven police spokesperson Christian Bruckhart, neither young woman is from New Haven.

Bruckhart told Patch it's "unknown at this point if shooters and/or victims had been (at the nightclub), but 18+ clubs have become a regional draw."
The identity of the young woman who was killed has not yet been released.
