Have Your Say: New Haven Public Schools '23-'24 Climate Survey Is Live

The online questionnaire will give the district "a better understanding of morale, satisfaction, and culture" in its schools.

NEW HAVEN, CT —The New Haven Public Schools 2023-2024 School Climate Survey is now live. Students in 5th through 12th grades, as well as staff and families, may take the survey. The questionnaire will give the district "a better understanding of morale, satisfaction, and culture" in its schools.

The survey takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete. The district would like to get as much participation as possible in order to ensure that each and every voice is heard. The survey will be open until March 19, 2024.

NHPS will use the results for three purposes:

  • To recognize skilled leaders who engage their communities positively
  • To improve our policies and practices to make them more equitable and effective
  • To fix problems that demotivate people, compromise student and family satisfaction, or diminish performance.

Once the data are in, the school district will share the results with the community. In the months that follow the survey, school and district leadership will work collaboratively to respond to findings from the survey data.

The process is being managed by an independent survey company called CustomInsight. This company will host the survey on the Internet and collect responses online. All responses will remain strictly anonymous. NHPS will not be able to trace individual responses. The administration will only see combined data for groups of 4 or more respondents. Please be thoughtful, honest, and candid when you complete the questionnaire.
