"Numerous retailers in the Northeast participate in our HungerLESS Holidays with a Hangtag or Round-Up Program. After the program, each retailer sends a check to The Hometown Foundation, Inc. for the total amount of money raised, and the foundation sends a check for 50% of the sales to be converted into gift cards. In 2023, through our retailer participants, we raised $90,000. Each retailer can donate the gift cards to their local food support organization. In addition, The Hometown Foundation provides 40 frozen turkeys to each retailer who participated in HungerLESS Holidays to distribute to their local food support organizations or food banks," the release reads.
