John Charles Artese, 59, of Oxford, CT, passed away in his sleep following a courageous battle with cancer on September 3, 2025. Born on March 10, 1966 in Brooklen, NY, he was the son of the late Charles T. Artese and Janice Adamchak Artese.
John, known for his magnetic energy, generous heart, and infectious sense of humor, he had a gift for making friends wherever he went. John spent nearly two decades as a dedicated truck driver, specializing in moving and storage. His work took him across the country, allowing him to experience the beauty and diversity of the United States—something he deeply appreciated. Also lifelong dog lover, John cared for many loyal companions over the years, each one a testament to his gentle spirit and unwavering kindness to animals. John carried a quiet wish: to find a peaceful place of his own. Whether on the road, at home with his dogs, or surrounded by those he loved, he sought moments of calm and connection. That search for peace shaped the way he lived and the way he loved.
John is survived by his beloved son Nicholas John Carey, daughter-in-law Alexandrea M. Feaster, and one sister. As well as his girlfriend, Rachel Mixon, and close friends Andy and Michelle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
