Jury Finds Man, 26, Guilty Of Intentional Manslaughter: Prosecutor
A jury found Kiyon Matheney guilty of 1st-degree intentional manslaughter in the July 2022 shooting death of teen John Tubac-Saquil.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A Superior Court jury found Kiyon Matheney, 26, of New Haven, guilty of first-degree armed and intentional manslaughter, the state's attorney said.
According to prosecutors and evidence introduced at trial, Matheney shot John Tubac-Saquil, 17, of New Haven, on the night of July 3, 2022. Tubac-Saquil died four days later, according to State’s Attorney John P. Doyle.
Sentencing is set for Dec. 12 in New Haven Superior Court.
