Lincoln-Bassett Custodian Saw Something, Then Did Something 'Heroic'
A New Haven schools spokesperson confirmed that the custodian saw a man with a gun at the school and promptly stopped him, called cops.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A Lincoln-Bassett Community School custodian saw something and went beyond saying something, he did something.
Kids were in classes when the worker, who a New Haven school official said has a security background, noticed a man on school property had a gun around 10 Wednesday morning.
A man who a school official told WTNH appeared to be in "mental distress."

The custodian acted quickly, schools spokesperson Justin Harmon confirmed, and called police.
The man was arrested within 30 minutes, Harmon confirmed. Patch has a request in to New Haven police for more information on that arrest and what, if any charges were leveled against the man. The incident didn't disrupt the normal school day, school officials said.

Assistant Superintendent Viviana Camacho was quoted as saying the custodian is a "hero."
