Man, 29, Critically Injured In Shooting: New Haven Police

The gunshot victim walked into a nearby hospital, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night.

At 7:40 p.m. police responded to the area of Wilmot Street by Brookside Avenue in response to a ShotSpotter alert.

Approximately 10 minutes later, officers responded to the St. Raphael campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital, 1450 Chapel Street, in response to a walk-in gunshot victim, police said. Officers and detectives were able to locate ballistic evidence at the scene of the ShotSpotter activation. The 29-year-old New Haven man is listed in Critical/Stable condition, police said.
