Man, 63, Critically Injured In Downtown New Haven Hit & Run: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 63-year-old man crossing the street was struck and critically injured by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday morning in downtown New Haven, police said.

It was around 9 a.m. when first responders arrived at Chapel and Temple streets to find the Wallingford man lying in the street suffering from "significant" injuries, police posted to "X."

Taken to Yale New Haven Hospital blocks away, he's listed as being in critical condition, police said.

Witnesses told police that a four-door gray Honda struck the man as he was crossing Chapel Street, with the car fleeing on Temple Street.
