NEW HAVEN, CT — Mayor Justin Elicker won a decisive fourth term tonight, expanding his margin of victory and earning a clear mandate from voters to reject Donald Trump’s policies and continue leading New Haven forward with vision and heart. The people of New Haven overwhelmingly support Mayor Elicker’s progress in delivering for every resident in every neighborhood.

  • Mayor Elicker won 29 of 29 wards, with one ward outstanding
  • Mayor Elicker received 10,398 votes so far
  • Mayor Elicker’s margin of victory was five points higher than 2023, at over 84% tonight

"Tonight, voters sent a clear message: they want steady, experienced leadership to continue the progress we've made together" Elicker said. "I'm honored by the confidence New Haven residents have placed in me, and I'm ready to keep delivering results for our community. Tomorrow’s a New Day for New Haven. Let’s get to work!"

  • Reducing the rate of violent crime by 40% in the last year
  • Delivering 5,200 new and renovated housing units, of which 2000 are affordable and deeply affordable, with 6,000 more units in the pipeline
  • Investing more than $3 million in Youth summer jobs and high-dosage tutoring programs
  • Being the only CT mayor to sue Donald Trump—4 times and counting—and winning

Voters responded over the weekend and today by coming out in higher numbers than expected after Mayor Elicker’s win in federal court with 7 other cities and multiple non-profits to restore SNAP benefits.

Elicker will be inaugurated for his fourth term on January 1, 2026 and "looks forward to continuing to serve the people of New Haven."
