Mayor: What You Need To Know, New Haven, About Incoming Winter Storm

Schools, senior centers closed, citywide parking ban in effect, warming centers, shelters will have extended hours, trash will be picked up.

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker shared important information in light of the incoming snowstorm.

CITYWIDE PARKING BAN: Will begin at midnight (Tuesday 12:01 am) to ensure our snowplows can clear the roads.
- Residential areas: No parking on the odd-numbered side of the street.
- Snow emergency routes (which are posted): No parking on both sides of the street.
- Downtown area: No parking on both sides of the street. [On or inside the box of Grove Street (North), Frontage Road (South), State Street (East), Howe Street (West)]
- Other areas: No parking within 25 feet of a fire hydrant, intersection or bus stop.
- Alternative parking options: For a list of designated public school, Yale University, and New Haven Parking Authority parking lots, go to newhavenct.gov/snow
- Please stay off the roads if you can. If you must drive, drive slow and use extreme caution.

SENIOR CENTERS WILL BE CLOSED

WINTER WARMING CENTERS & SHELTERS: Will have extended hours and will be open continuously from Monday 7 pm through Wednesday 7 am. The list of warming centers can also be found at newhavenct.gov/homeless or by calling 2-1-1.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR:
- Please shovel your sidewalks so there is a path at least 3 feet wide to ensure wheelchair and stroller access,
- Check on your family, friends and neighborhoods who might need a helping hand.

TRASH & RECYCLING: Will be picked on Tuesday and Wednesday on all applicable routes.
