New D.C. Pizzeria Owner Gordon Ramsay Stops At Sally's, Frank Pepe

Day after his pizzeria opens in Washington DC, and days after his CT bicycle crash, Hell's Kitchen chef enjoys iconic New Haven ah-beetz.

Decisions, decisions. Gordon Ramsay surely didn't have to wait in line so opted for both, two of New Haven's ah-beetz trinity.

NEW HAVEN, CT — For some New Haven ah-beetz aficionados, who are devotees of the two landmark pizzerias, where to eat might just depend on the Wooster Street lines: Sally's Apizza is at 237 Wooster St., and Frank Pepe's is down the block at number 157. Often, there are lines at both, so depending on hunger level, one might opt for the shorter of the two queues.

Tuesday, Gordon Ramsay, who likely did not wait on line, enjoyed pies from both.

Sally's posted the visit to Facebook. "We LOVE when @gordongram comes to visit!" The post had thousands of likes and hundreds of comments and shares.

Last week, Ramsay was involved in a bicycle accident and was treated at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London. He wrote on X: "This week I had a bad accident while riding my bike in CT. I'm doing ok and I’m thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at @LMHospital who looked after me but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life. Be Safe"

Ramsay has been spending a lot of time in Connecticut as "Hell's Kitchen" is filming at Foxwoods Resort Casino. The Michelin-star chef opened the sixth Hell's Kitchen restaurant last July at Foxwoods' Grand Pequot Tower.

And by the way, Ramsay opened his own pizzeria —Gordon Ramsay's Street Pizza —in Washington DC, just the day before.
