NEW HAVEN, CT —Described as a "full service supermarket," Market 360, at 360 State St., former home of Elm City Market, is set to open in April or May, according to owners Beachwold Residential.

Inside Beachwold Residential's 500-unit mixed-use building in New Haven’s Ninth Square, Market 360 is located in the building’s 20,000 square foot ground floor retail space.

What Mayor Justin Elicker described as, "One of New Haven’s iconic mixed-use, mixed-income developments."

"Continuing to have a convenient downtown market at this site that offers high-quality, locally-sourced groceries and goods is wonderful news for the residents of the Ninth Square, Downtown, Wooster Square, and other nearby neighborhoods," he said. "New Haven continues to grow – and with hundreds of new housing units coming online and thousands of new residents soon to live within walking distance of Market 360 – this stands to be a successful partnership for many years to come."

The market is operated by veteran independent Connecticut-based grocers Kim and Chris Choe,
owners of the Sharon Farm Market in Sharon, Connecticut, according to a news release. The new grocery store will offer a wide selection of products, including meats, cheeses, fresh fish, sushi, produce, deli, café, and a bakery.

The owners said Market 360 will employ around 50 people.

It's noted that, "As with their other store, the Choe’s will focus on providing locally and regionally sourced products." They include vegetables, pork, and lamb from over 20 local farms; regionally sourced seafood from the North Atlantic, and eggs from their 129-acre all-natural farm in North Canaan. The new grocery store will offer a wide selection of products, including meats, cheeses, fresh fish, sushi, produce, deli, café, and a bakery.

"In selecting an Operator, we looked for a store that would serve all of New Haven and the surrounding area – not just downtown," said Dan DeStefano, Sr. Vice President, Beachwold Residential. "The Choe’s relationships with wholesalers and local businesses allows them to deliver high-quality farm fresh foods at reasonable prices."

Market 360 will also feature a selection of pet supplies, kitchen and housewares products, and a full floral department, the owners noted, adding the 360 State Street garage will offer free parking for all shoppers.
