New Haven Boy, 16, Killed In Daytime Shooting Nov. 22, ID'd By Police

Uzziah Shell was shot near Goffe and Hudson streets just as school was letting out, with a bus taking a stray bullet, no one inside hurt: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT —The 16-year-old New Haven teen who was shot Nov. 22, and later that day died from his injuries, was identified by police Monday morning as Uzziah Shell.

That Friday afternoon around 2:35 p.m. cops were called to the area of Goffe Street by Hudson Street for a ShotSpotter activation, as well as 911 calls reporting a person shot, according to police.
When cops got there, they found the boy suffering from gunshot wounds.

Taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, he later died from his injuries, police said.

Officers learned that a passing school bus with children on it was struck by a stray bullet, but, as police noted, "The bus driver acted quickly and stopped several blocks away from the scene; no children on the bus were injured and members of the Yale Child Study were dispatched to assist with them."
