New Haven Boy, 17, Was Shot Tuesday Evening On Edgewood Avenue: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, cops got both a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls about gunfire near Sherman and Edgewood avenues, New Haven police said. Officers located a shooting victim, a 17-year-old boy, near the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Hotchkiss Street.
Taken to Yale New Haven Hospital's York Street main campus, the teen underwent emergency surgery and was eventually listed in stable condition, police said.
Investigators found ballistic evidence at the scene, and ask that anyone with information contact police at 203-946-6304 or the anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
