New Haven Launches Supplemental Parking App

City officials will launch the app at a press event tomorrow, July 26.

City officials, members of the business community, and vendor representatives will roll out and describe a new, supplemental parking ‘app’tomorrow, available to ease downtown parking for drivers. With tomorrow’s launch, New Haven will become the first city in the nation to have parallel parking ‘apps’ available.

Tomorrow’s press conference is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of the city’s Hall of Records – 200 Orange Street – in New Haven. Members of the press are invited to cover this event.

City officials are eager to showcase New Haven’s efforts to bring technology to bear to address traffic and parking challenges. New Haven parking meters are already outfitted with new decals to raise drivers’ awareness of the new ‘app.’
