NEW HAVEN, CT — It was just after noon Wednesday that cops were dispatched to the Ferry and Wolcott streets are for a report of a shooting.Police said that callers reported that a "male on a dirt bike" was shot by a person in a vehicle that appeared to be following him.When cops got there, they found Niygere L Wicker, 21, of New Haven suffering from gunshot wounds. Wicker was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said. His family was notified, authorities noted. A crime scene was established and New Haven police detectives "identified a suspect vehicle," it was noted in a news release posted to "X." Now, police ask that anyone with information that may be valuable to investigators, call 203-946-6304.
