NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven Superior Court jury convicted a 22-year-old Elm City man of murder, according to prosecutors.
Lamont Quadir Smith-Reed fatally shot then-18-year-old Semaj Reddick-Streater of Hamden in 2021, New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle Jr. said.
Smith-Reed was found guilty Sept. 19 of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, Doyle said.

According to evidence introduced at trial, Smith-Reed fatally shot Reddick-Streater of Hamden outside a Hamden convenience store on May 30, 2021, per a news release from the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.
Officials said an arrest warrant was obtained on May 17, 2022, after an "intensive investigation."
