New Haven Man, 28, Charged With Murder In 2024 Homicide Case: NHPD
Gregory Perez, then 45, was shot, killed on Jan. 5, 2024. Now, a 28-year-old New Haven man has been charged in the slaying, held on $1M bail

NEW HAVEN, CT — On Jan. 5, 2024, cops were summoned to a Carmel Street address in the Edgewood section of the city for the report of a man shot.
When they arrived around 2 p.m., they found Gregory Perez, then 45, suffering from a single gunshot wound, police said. Despite life-saving efforts by medics, Perez succumbed to his injuries
That case was assigned to New Haven police Detective Jessica Stone of the Major Crimes Unit. After her investigation, she secured an arrest warrant for Oscar Darius, 28, of New Haven.
