NEW HAVEN, CT — Police found a gunshot victim laying in a grassy area near his vehicle late Sunday night after a report of a shooting. At 10:38 p.m. cops were dispatched to Water and East streets and found a car in the grassy area across from Sports Haven and a 38-year-old New Haven resident lying near the vehicle suffering from "evident gunshot wounds," New Haven police posted to "X." The person was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Detectives spoke to "people involved," police said, and are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to call New Haven police at 203-946-6304, or via its anonymous tip-line at 866-888-TIPS.
