NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man, in a verbal argument with another person near a Hill home, crashed into the house staircase, fence, and a car in the driveway while attempting to drive off, with two children inside the car, police said.

It was late Monday night when, police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart said, that cops were called to the rear of an address in the area of Howard Avenue and Lamberton Street for a report of a "driver colliding with a house."

When cops got there, they found Tyrone Arrington, 36, still inside the vehicle. He was detained without incident, though Bruckhart said "other adults on scene were uncooperative with officers." But, Bruckhart said that cops "were able to determine that Arrington got into a verbal dispute with another person and as he was attempting to leave in his car with two children inside, he crashed into the staircase for the house, a fence, and another vehicle in the driveway."
