New Haven Mom 'Did Everything Under The Sun' To Support Beloved Son

NEW HAVEN, CT— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My grandmother, who has raised me my entire life, is an incredibly amazing mother. Just this past year, we lost my uncle — her son, Andrew. Andrew was a special needs boy who needed full devotion and dedication to live life … and when I tell you this woman gave up her life and then some to ensure he lived his life to the fullest he could possibly live it, she did everything under the sun to make sure it happened.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

My grandmother deserves to be recognized by the entire world, and if it were up to me, I’d do whatever it takes to tell the world how inspiring she was and continues to be. Not only has she dedicated her entire life to our special boy, Andrew, but she continues to mother me and now my son who is 4 years old. I can’t express the love I have for her or the amount of admiration and appreciation I have for her. I look up to her in so so many ways, and pray to God that I become the mother she is one day.
