A little after 4 a.m. Sunday, another call from Yale New Haven Hospital. A 26-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh was being treated on the York Street campus, Carr said. Police said a person tried to rob the man on Chamberlain Street. According to Carr, during the attempted robbery, the "suspect discharged a firearm, wounding the victim" and then fled the scene in a vehicle. The car that the injured man was taken to the hospital in was also processed by investigators, Carr said.
Carr said detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Bureau of Identification spoke with "potential witnesses," found ballistic evidence and obtained surveillance footage.
