New Haven Teen Charged With Gun Possession, Attempted Car Theft: PD
Late Sunday afternoon, police arrested a 16-year-old who they said had in his possession a handgun with a fully loaded, 17-round magazine.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Just before 5 p.m. Sunday, cops were called to the 400 block of Central Avenue for the report of three males checking cars in the area, officials posted to "X." While canvassing, cops found "several suspects matching that description" in the area of Emerson and Valley streets.
Police said the "males attempted to flee, but officers were able to apprehend" a 16-year-old who cops said had in his possession a handgun with a fully loaded, 17-round magazine.
Police said the teen was wearing an ankle monitor, and had previously been charged with firearm possession and added that cops learned he tried to "steal a vehicle prior to being arrested."

The teen was charged with carrying the pistol without a permit, criminal attempt at larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity magazine, third-degree criminal mischief, and interfering with an officer.
Police said an order to detain was completed, and the 16-year-old he was transported to the juvenile detention facility in Bridgeport.
