Noose Found In New Haven School; Made Out Of Shoestring

The noose was found on Friday at a bathroom in Nathan Hale School. Superintendent Iline Tracey said the incident is being investigated.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Officials are investigating after a noose made out of shoestring was found at Nathan Hale School in New Haven on Friday.

Superintendent Iline Tracey told families in a letter that the incident is "a very serious breach of the values of our community," WTNH reported.

"Such behavior cannot and will not be tolerated. We will work with staff and students to understand what happened and to keep it from occurring again," Tracey said in the statement. "We will take action to make sure students are safe, and all are respected."

The noose was found in a restroom at the school, NBC Connecticut reported.

Nathan Hale School teaches students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade.
