Obituary: Andrea Kathleen Kyles, 76, of New Haven
Andrea, known for her love of family and devotion to friends, worked for the City of New Haven for many years as a Clerk Typist.

NEW HAVEN, CT - (From Colonial Funeral Home) Andrea Kathleen Kyles passed away on May 1, 2022 at Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in New Haven, CT on December 25, 1945.
How befitting for her to be born on that day because she definitely was a gift to her family. She was the daughter of the late Gerald L. Kyles Sr. and Flora Brown Kyles.
Andrea is survived by daughters Kimberly Kyles, Melinda Barger, and son Anthony Barger, her sister LaVerneKyles-Hughes Muhammad, her brother-in-law Kenneth Hughes Muhammad, her brothers Rodney Kyles and Basil Kyles.
Andrea was predeceased by her brothers Gerald Kyles Jr. and Geoffrey Kyles.
She was also predeceased by her close friend Alfred F. Rogers, her son Christopher Barger, and her longtime partner Otis Barger. Andrea is survived by her grandchildren Fallon Haynes, Miesha Tuitt, Michael Tuitt, Christopher Highsmith, Anthony Barger Jr., Ralph Burruss, great-grandchildren Kaiden Carter and Kamryn Carter.
Andrea is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Andrea loved her family and friends very much and often reminisced about the good times they had. She worked for the City of New Haven for many years as a Clerk Typist. She was an avid reader and very intelligent.
She loved reading science fiction, drama, horror, mysteries, and many others. She enjoyed going to the casino to play the slots, and eating good food. She loved watching Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Criminal Minds, Jeopardy, Animal shows and Horror movies.
She also loved to play games on her cell phone, card and board games with her family, play scratch cards, eat candy and she enjoyed cigarettes. S
he also loved music, some of her favorite artists were Barry White, Luther Vandross, The Temptations, Motown, Anita Baker, Teddy Pendergrass, Patti LaBelle, and Phyllis Hyman.
A celebration of Andrea’s life will be on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 12 O’clock at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, CT.
