Obituary: Antonio Elias Ramos, Lt., NHFD, Ret., 54, of New Haven
Antonio served as a fireman for the City of New Haven for 23 years, retiring as rank of lieutenant.
NEW HAVEN, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Antonio Elias Ramos, Lt., NHFD, Ret., 54 of Middletown, formerly of New Haven died suddenly at his home on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Antonio was born in New York City on July 16, 1967, a son of Ana Meléndez of New Haven and Antonio Ramos. He had lived in New Haven for most of his life before moving to Middletown four years ago. Antonio served as a fireman for the City of New Haven for 23 years, retiring five years ago with the rank of lieutenant.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by five sisters, Estela (Hector) Avila of West Haven, Santa (Rene) Cordova of Durham, Ana Ramos and Diana (Carlos) Gil of New Haven and Zoraida (Mark) Moody of Naugatuck, two aunts, Tabitha García and Sara Roque of Vineland, NJ, two uncles, Isaac Rodríguez of Hamden and Solomon Rodríguez of New Haven, five nieces, Lissette Nieves, Gisell Cervantes, Samantha Gil, Raquel López and Crysta Ramos, four nephews, Hector Avila, Jr., Joshua Avila, Christian Cordova and Elijah Cordova, and many loving cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by two aunts, Lucina and Carmen Rodríguez, and two uncles, Hermenegildo and Manuel Rodríguez.
Antonio's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at noon time, Pastor Richard Lejeune officiating. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
