Obituary: Carlos Noel Matos Lugo, 75, of New Haven
Carlos, a devoted and loving family man, was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
NEW HAVEN, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Carlos Noel Matos Lugo, 75, of New Haven, died peacefully, Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Carlos was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico, November 20, 1946, a son of the late Obdulio Matos and Luz Maria Lugo and had been a New Haven resident for many years. Carlos was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife Esmeralda Ruiz Vargas and children Raul Dally, Ileanita, Angel, Aida, Raquel, Eva, Margarita, Felix J., Wesley, Clay, Rebecca; he also leaves behind 46 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his grandson Joshwua Figueroa.
Carlos’ family will receive relatives and friends at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave, North Haven, Thursday, January 13th, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
A funeral service will take place at the funeral home, Friday, January 14th, at 9: a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
