He worked for A&A Auto Truck Repair and will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to his job and most importantly to his family.
NEW HAVEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): Ruben Cortes Portillo, 36, of New Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elia Luna Cortes Portillo.
Ruben was born in Traxcala, Mexico on May 19, 1987, and was the son of Cenovio Cortes and Anatolia Portillo.
He had worked for A&A Auto Truck Repair as a mechanic for 16 years. Ruben will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to his job and most importantly to his family, who he loved unconditionally. Loving father of Josue Vega III.

Brother of Matias Cortes, Carmen, and Anel Cortes. Son in law of Wilda and Efrain Rivera. Brother-in-law of Luis (Jen) Juan, Pedro (Nancy), and Jennifer (Samuel). He leaves behind his extended family Wayne and Melissa Moras, Wayne and Lauren Moras Jr, and Michael and Dana Moras. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, God children, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
