Obituary: Thomas “Tom” Marchitto Sr., 75, of New Haven
Tom, a loving family man known for his selflessness, worked many years in retail and truly cherished his time with friends and family.

NEW HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Thomas “Tom” Marchitto Sr., 75, of New Haven, died on June 30, 2022, at The Connecticut Hospice after battling a prolonged illness.
Born in West Haven on August 24, 1946, a son of the late James and Laura (Simoni) Marchitto.
Survived by his beloved son Tom Jr. (Liz) Marchitto of Boulder, CO; granddaughters Giuliana and Nadia Marchitto of Boulder, CO; sisters Justina Marchitto, Anna May Moquet, and Phyllis Pastore, all of West Haven; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by sisters Lena Simoni and Rose Marie Fortier; as well as brothers Michael, James, John, and Joseph Marchitto.
Tom worked in management for several retail companies, including Macy’s, Caldor, and Railroad Salvage before enjoying his retirement.
The youngest of 10 children, Tom treasured his family and the time spent with them; he will best be remembered for his selfless help of others.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, July 5th, from three to seven o’clock. The family kindly requests attendees wear a face mask.
His funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Wednesday, July 6th, at 9:45am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at, ten o’clock, in St. Louis Church of St. John XXIII Parish, West Haven.
Interment will be private.
