One Journey Ends, Another Begins For New Haven Public Schools' Class Of 2025
For the 1,152 graduates, the future is theirs to shape. At Wilbur Cross' commencement, there was standing (and cheering) room only.
NEW HAVEN, CT — Filled with hope, 1,152 New Haven Public Schools students celebrate the end of their academic journey—a path filled with years of hard work and dedication—and step into their futures.
The commencement ceremonies for the Co-Operative Arts and Humanities High School, Hill Regional Career High School, Wilbur Cross High School, New Haven Academy, James Hillhouse High School, High School in the Community, and Sound School were held Monday.
The Metropolitan Business Academy graduation is Tuesday. Adult Education held its graduation ceremony June 5, Riverside Academy on June 12, and Engineering and Science University Magnet School on June 13.

Another 56 students are expected to receive diplomas during graduation ceremonies this summer.

Of the graduating seniors, 516 have completed applications for New Haven Promise scholarships; awards are pending confirmation of final grades, attendance, and community service hours. One hundred and fifty-one have been awarded a total of $290,400 through the New Haven Scholarship Fund.
Among the students finishing the year with certifications, 27 seniors have successfully completed training as Emergency Medical Technicians, all of whom are in the process of taking the state certification exam.
One hundred and sixteen high school juniors and seniors successfully completed the Certified Nursing Assistant course; another 15 students will participate in summer certification.
Students at the Sound School earned 153 certifications in safe boating, scuba and science diving, aquaculture, and OSHA safety training.
Seven students are graduating in the first full cohort of the Health Career Academy Pathway, all of whom earned at least a 3.5 GPA. The students include the valedictorian, salutatorian, and third ranking senior at Hillhouse High School.
Twenty seniors in the Business Pathway earned college credits in Management and Organization; 19 in Business Law and Ethics. Two seniors graduating in the Education Pathway earned between six and nine credits toward a college degree in education.
