Pedestrian Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries: New Haven Police

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive man in the middle of intersection, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle, police said.

At 11:13 p.m. on Oct. 26, police said a pedestrian struck at the intersection of James Street and Market Street, police said.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive man in the middle of intersection, police said. The operator of the motor vehicle involved in the accident remained on scene and was cooperative with the police, police said.

The New Haven Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel immediately responded to the scene to render aid, police said. The pedestrian was transported via ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital located at 20 York Street for further medical treatment, police said. Medical Personnel informed officers that the pedestrian suffered from life- threatening injuries and was in critical condition, police said.
