Police Athletic League Boxing Program For Youth, Teens Starts Tuesday

NEW HAVEN, CT —Boxing day begins!

Tuesday, the New Haven Police Athletic League begins offering boxing for young people as part of its community programs.

"We're proud to be part of a community that values the importance of positive relationships between police and the people we protect and serve," NHPD PAL noted.

Boxing is held every Tuesday for two age groups: For kids 8 to 12, the boxing program is held from 4;30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. For teens, 13 to 17, the boxing program is held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 200 Wintergreen Ave., the NHPD Training and PAL Facility.

"At NHPD Police Athletic League, we're committed to building strong relationships between officers and our community," a news release noted. Programs including summer camp, martial arts, chess club, basketball clinics, flag football, and other activities, "Help bridge the gap between law enforcement and our community, while providing lifelong memories and experiences for the kids, it's shared.
