Police Investigating After New Haven Woman Shot Overnight Saturday: PD

A 12:30 a.m. call on a shooting had cops unable to find victim or crime scene, then at 3 a.m., hospital reported walk-in gunshot victim: PD.

NEW HAVEN, CT — It was just before 12:30 a.m. when cops were called to the area of Edgewood and Winthrop avenues for a report of a person shot, police posted to "X."

When they got there, officers were unable to locate a victim or a crime scene. Then, at around 3 a.m., police were called to the Saint Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital for a "walk-in" gunshot victim, police said. The 35-year-old new Haven woman had suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries to her leg, police said.

New Haven police detectives went to the hospital and interviewed the woman. Now, police are asking anyone with information to call NHPD detectives at 203-946-6304 or call via the department's anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
