Police Release Identities Of 2 New Haven Residents Killed In Fiery One-Car Cash Overnight Sunday

Nicky Perez, 40, was taken to hospital in a private car and died there. The woman found dead in the car's back seat was Lymarys Walker, 37.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police have now identified both the victims in a fatal Sunday morning crash on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard in New Haven.

Police said that Nicky Perez, 40, was likely the driver in the one-vehicle crash into a tree. Perez was taken by private vehicle to Yale New Haven Hospital after the 3 a.m. fiery crash and later died from his injuries.

Lymarys Walker, 37, of New Haven was identified by police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as the second fatality.

It was just before 3 a.m. when cops were called to the 500 block of Grasso, between Adeline Street and Printer's Lane, on a report of a car accident in which a vehicle struck a tree and caught fire, police said.

New Haven firefighters extinguished the blaze. Once the fire was put out, firefighters discovered a body in the rear seat of the car, police said, that of a woman, now known to be Walker.
