Ribbon Cut On ERO Café, Turkish Tea, Coffee Shop In Wooster Square

The café idea (with tea, coffee, pastry, poetry) came from an assignment student Emerald Olmos got at Southern, shared with husband Elian.

NEW HAVEN, CT— Small business owners Elien and Emerald Olmos were joined by local officials Thursday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new business, ERO Café, located in the Olive & Wooster Apartments building, 44 Olive St., in the Wooster Square neighborhood.

ERO Café is a tea and coffee shop featuring Turkish teas and coffee beans sourced from a local roaster that partners with small farmers in Africa, Central America, and South America. The café specializes in Turkish pastries and offers poetry, music, and other entertainment while also hosting community events in a setting a warm and comfortable setting.

The idea for the café originated from a college assignment that Emerald received while she was at Southern Connecticut State University. She shared her idea with her husband, Elien, and together they researched and visited coffee shops all over the world to develop a concept for ERO Café in New Haven.

What began as a simple undergrad project to build a business plan, sparked a dream that would transform into a reality. We as budding entrepreneurs, envisioned a cozy haven where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee would beckon patrons seeking solace and inspiration. With unwavering support from Elien and our BOSS GOD by our side this dream morphed into a tangible plan, and ERO was born.
Today, ERO stands as a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. It’s a place where every cup tells a story, from the carefully sourced beans to the meticulous brewing process. Our commitment to quality and community extends beyond the beverages, creating an inviting space for conversations, connections, and creative pursuits. Can’t wait to meet you all on Thursday. This is us. Romans 8:31
