Toad's Place in New Haven is hosting a top drawer concert Sept. 23, with tickets sparking huge lines and major buzz.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A small, local concert venue is upping its game considerably.

Toad's Place at 300 York Street in New Haven will be hosting Foo Fighters on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Tickets went on sale late Monday afternoon, and the buzz on social media had the line out the door in the middle of the afternoon. Doors open at approximately 6 p.m. on the night of the show.

If you are familiar with the ticketing details, you understand why the crush was on.

First off: ticket sales are in person only. That means no online, no apps, no bots. You’ve got to show up at the club to score tickets. Bring your actual self, your government-issued ID, and a good old-fashioned physical credit or debit card (yes, swipe-style—no cash, no Apple Pay, no tapping your phone). Tickets are $30 a pop, max two per person. And don’t even think about line-cutting.

Got your golden tickets? Here’s how the night goes down: doors swing open at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. IDs get checked against the order list, and your entry is tied to that ID—so no transfers, no “my buddy’s picking it up for me,” and absolutely no exceptions. If you bought two tickets, you and your plus-one have to roll in together. If you don’t, their ticket’s toast.

Once you’re inside, it’s a one-way trip. There’s no re-entry, so plan your night accordingly. Security’s tight: small bags (4.5”x6” or smaller) only, no outside food or drinks, and leave the cameras, gum, and Sharpies at home. Your phone is fine for snaps, though.

The floor is general admission standing—so get there early if you want that front-row sweat-zone experience. If you need accessible accommodations, let staff know at purchase and again at check-in.

Dave Grohl and the boys are just coming off a gig in Washington, D.C., after a stint on the West Coast earlier this month.

The Foo Fighters will join a rich roster of artists spanning the musical and comedic spectrums who have headlined at Toad's over the last 47-plus years.
