Shots-Fired Incidents Locked-Down Schools, Stolen Car Arrests Made: PD
Two teens were charged in connection with a stolen car, and early morning shootings that locked down schools were related incidents: police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Two teens have been in charged in connection with a stolen car and early morning shootings that locked down schools in the area of Quinnipiac and Barnes avenues, police said.
According to New Haven police spokesperson Sgt. Cherelle Carr, it was just after 7:30 a.m., when Shotspotter alerted cops to shots fired in the area. When officers got to there, they secured a crime scene where ballistic evidence was found and determined based on a report that the gunshots came from someone in a moving car, she said.
Police investigators interviewed witnesses and searched for video surveillance footage, Carr said. .

As a result of the shots-fired incident, Carr said all schools in the area of the shooting were immediately placed on a precautionary lock down.
A few minutes after the first report, at 7:45 a.m., cops got a report that a car that was running with no one inside at the intersection of Ferry and Lombard streets, Carr said.

The police spokesperson said that the "vehicle is believed to be in connection with the reports
of shots fired."
Around 45 minutes later, at 8:30 a.m., police got another report of shots fired in the area of
West Park and Whalley avenues, Carr said. When cops got to that scene, they found ballistic evidence, and learned that two juveniles were seen fleeing from a stolen vehicle in the same area, the spokesperson said.
Patrol officers canvassed the area and found the two near Whalley and Ellsworth avenues, Carr said. They were arrested, she said, "for the stolen vehicle."
"All three incidents are being investigated as one incident," Carr said.
No one was injured in any of the three incidents, she said.
The schools that were locked down resumed to a "modified lockdown," Carr said, adding students
were able to "resume normal activities, but no one will enter or leave the school."
