Southern CT University Offers 2-Week Application Waiver For High School Seniors

with Free Application Opportunity

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University is excited to announce an extraordinary opportunity for high school seniors applying for the 2025-2026 academic year. To eliminate financial barriers and support accessibility to higher education, Southern is offering a limited-time application fee waiver for all prospective students. This initiative is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to making quality education attainable for all.

From Nov. 1 through Nov. 15, 2024, high school seniors can submit their applications to Southern free of charge. Traditionally, there is a $50 application fee, but during this exclusive two-week period, the fee is completely waived, making it easier for students to take their first step toward a bright future.

“We're excited to open up this chance for high school seniors to experience everything Southern has to offer,” said Dwayne Smith, interim president of Southern Connecticut State University. “We know the financial hurdles that many students and families encounter when applying to college. By waiving the application fee, our goal is to make sure every student has an equal opportunity to access Southern's outstanding education, resources, and vibrant community.”
