Teen With Gunshot Wound Found Sunday In Hazel Street Backyard: Police

NEW HAVEN, CT —An 18-year-old was found in a Hazel Street backyard late Sunday afternoon, suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

It was just after sunset Sunday when Shotspotter was activated in the hundred block of Hazel Street, followed by a report to cops about a "gunshot victim" in the same area, New Haven police spokesperson Sgt. Cherelle Carr said.

The young man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gun-shot wound to the shoulder and arm, Carr said.
