Teen Killed, 4 Shot In New Haven, Police Say

"It does not appear the shooting victims were the intended targets," police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Four people were shot, and a teenager died early Saturday, police said.

At 2:34 p.m. police responded to gunfire in the area of Church and Center streets. Police found three people with gunshot wounds, including a 21-year-old man, and two 18-year-old females, police said.

One of the female teens died as a result of her injuries. Police said a 21-year-old man later arrived at the hospital by private vehicle, and he also reported being shot. His injury is non-life-threatening, police added.

"Camera footage was located which captured an exchange of gunfire between two people in the area of Church Street and Center Street, police said. "It does not appear the shooting victims were the intended targets."

An ID of the deceased has not yet been released.
